Koichi YAMAURA

biography

Food and Environmental Economist

Koichi YAMAURA is a native of Saitama, Japan, where I was raised outside of Kawagoe. I received a B.S. degree in economics with an emphasis on international economics from Toyo University. I received my M.S. degree in agricultural economics from Kansas State University focusing his research on soybean trade and market power. I earned his Ph.D. from Kansas State University in 2012 in agricultural economics. Prior to joining APU in 2019, I was first a postdoctoral fellow at Sophia University as a member of S10 project in the Ministry of Environment, Japan, and then an assistant professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Yamaura's research focus on Consumer Economics, Food and Sustainable Energy and Socioeconomic analysis, and issues related to Fukushima Disaster.  I enjoy watching sports and playing with kids in my spare time.

  • Transferred from School of Management to College of Asia Pacific Studies (because of reorganization of university) (April 2023) 学内改組のため国際経営学部からアジア太平洋学部へ異動しました。

  • Start Field leader in College of Asia Pacific Studies (April  2023)　23年度は主任です。

  • Finished Graduate School Development Economics Division Head (March 2023)　大学院のディビジョンヘッドを2年間務めました。
